A web template is a pre-made HTML or XML file that contains the basic design layout of a website. Web templates can be used to create websites from scratch or to create pages for existing websites.

There are two types of web templates: static and dynamic. Static web templates are used to create simple websites, while dynamic web templates are used to create more complex websites with database-driven content.

Static web templates are created in a text editor, such as Notepad or TextEdit. Dynamic web templates are usually created in a software development environment, such as Dreamweaver or Adobe Photoshop.
